Amanda and Joseph's Waldorf Wonderland Wedding in The Blue Room at The Roosevelt Hotel, New Orleans, Louisiana (Part 2)
We are thrilled to share part 2 of Amanda & Joseph’s Waldorf Wonderland Wedding in The Blue Room at The Roosevelt Hotel, New Orleans. As you know, this was more than just a wedding shoot for us. We were able to really get to know the bride and groom as well as their families while we captured such a wonderful weekend. The bride and groom knew their vision from the start and selected some amazing vendors who brought their dream to life perfectly!
Our favorite part about the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner is how they tied in New Orleans 1940's into everything! The invitation envelope liner was a picture of actual New Orleans cobblestone and streetcar tracks. The background used for the front of the invitation was a New Orleans city map from the 1940's. The image used on the back of the invitations is a New Orleans streetcar in operation during the 1940's. We loved the throwback and dedication to old world charm!

Honoring Lt. Shawn T. Anderson
Double Windsor Photography is humbled to have been a part of the March 23, 2017 ceremonies honoring East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s deputy Lt. Shawn T. Anderson. We are thankful to the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Department for entrusting us to document the events as law enforcement officers and citizens paid final respect to our fallen hero. All of us at Double Windsor are proud to belong to a community that showed overwhelming support. We are most grateful to Lt. Anderson who gave his life while serving and protecting.

Bachelorette Bubbly Brunch Lingerie Shower
The first event kicking off the weekend was a bachelorette bubbly brunch lingerie shower hosted by Megan and Danielle, Amanda’s sorority littles and grand-littles from college. Early on Amanda said she didn’t want the typical stiff bridesmaid luncheon. When this idea was presented to Amanda, she instantly lit up knowing it was the perfect way to start the weekend! It was the ideal opportunity for all the girls to laugh and share stories in an intimate setting. They organized a game to for everyone to get to know the bride and groom's story a little better (excellent selection of questions, no one got them all right). The wonderful hostesses made sure to include Sucre macaroons for dessert since that is what Amanda sends north to them for their special occasions. They even had a special favor for each guest to take home! Megan and Danielle did an amazing job hosting this special event and really set the tone for the whole weekend! Every tiny detail for this event was pure perfection! I was most impressed because Megan & Danielle pulled it off perfectly even though they are from Richmond, Virginia and arrived in New Orleans for the first time the day prior!

Megan and Brian's Wedding at De La Ronde Hall, Baton Rouge, Louisiana
Megan and Brian's Wedding at De La Ronde Hall in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
ow We Met (from Megan): Brian and I first met about five and a half years ago when we were students at LSU and started working at a local restaurant together. We quickly became friends and over time it developed in to something more.
The Proposal (from Megan): Brian proposed on my 24th birthday, August 6, 2015. I had planned to have a low key birthday so Brian took Kona Grill for dinner and we planned to watch a movie and drink some wine at home afterwards. When we got home he rushed inside to use the restroom, while I went back to the car to grab his wallet that he had left in the center console. When I walked inside a few moments later it was dark and written in glow-in-the-dark stars on the wall was “Marry Me?” He turned on the light and was on one knee. Then the tears started pouring.
Wedding Garter Football Toss
Football is everywhere we look right now with the Super Bowl just around the corner. We wanted to get in on all the sports talk by sharing something new we just saw.
We recently shot a wedding with a very cute twist on the standard garter toss, they did a Wedding Garter Football Toss. The groom put the garter on a football before passing it off to the next lucky guy!
