Check out our old posts for details about how they met and got engaged; Amanda & Joseph's Engagement Pictures and Amanda's Bridal Shower.
Since Double Windsor was with Amanda & Joseph all weekend for multiple events, their weekend has been broke into 3 posts. We previously shared the bachelorette bubbly brunch lingerie shower [Part 1]. We are now sharing Part 2, dedicated to the other events the day before the wedding (rehearsal, rehearsal dinner, cocktail welcome party, etc.). We will share the usual wedding day content for you in [Part 3] later.
We are thrilled to share part 2 of Amanda & Joseph’s Waldorf Wonderland Wedding in The Blue Room at The Roosevelt Hotel, New Orleans. As you know, this was more than just a wedding shoot for us. We were able to really get to know the bride and groom as well as their families while we captured such a wonderful weekend. The bride and groom knew their vision from the start and selected some amazing vendors who brought their dream to life perfectly!
Our favorite part about the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner is how they tied in New Orleans 1940's into everything! The invitation envelope liner was a picture of actual New Orleans cobblestone and streetcar tracks. The background used for the front of the invitation was a New Orleans city map from the 1940's. The image used on the back of the invitations is a New Orleans streetcar in operation during the 1940's. We loved the throwback and dedication to old world charm!
Bride and Groom Exchanged Gifts
Before things got too hetic the bride and groom met in The Roosevelt Waldorf Wonderland lobby to exchange gifts. Since the Waldorf Wonderland lights in The Roosevelt lobby were central to this weekend, we also stopped to take a couple family shots before heading over to the church.
Rehearsal at Immaculate Conception Jesuit Church
Next up was the rehearsal. Lavinnia, the flower girl, was nervous to walk the long aisle at first but by the end she was teaching Amanda how to walk it without being nervous.
New Orleans Streetcar to Dinner at Palace Cafe
Amanda and Joseph then took a streetcar on Canal Street to meet their guests at the Palace Café for dinner.
Dinner at Palace Cafe
The decorations for dinner were perfect for the setting and time of year. The mother of the groom had them custom made and transported from Pennsylvania! The food at Palace Cafe was delicious! Our favorite part of dinner was the thank you speech from the bride and groom, to their flower girl for being the miracle that brought them together.
The day wouldn't have been complete without Amanda and Lavinnia twirling in their matching dresses.
Cocktail Welcome Party in Black Duck Bar at Palace Cafe
After dinner, we shifted over to The Black Duck Bar at Palace Café for a cocktail welcome party with all the out of town guests and anyone else in the city. We loved how Amanda planned a special toast to all her favorite and most important girls at the end of the evening!
Last Single Girl Kiss
Before finally heading to bed we stopped at The Roosevelt entrance for Amanda’s last single girl kiss! We loved that Amanda sent Joseph home for the night with socks so he wouldn't get cold feet!
For those of you wondering, yes, Amanda and her sister did practice their Second Line dance skills on their walk through The Roosevelt's Waldorf Wonderland lobby as they headed to bed before the big day. Sorry there aren't any pictures, Amanda insisted that we actually participate and dance through the lobby with her since we would be taking pictures for the real thing.
