Amanda & Joseph’s Waldorf Wonderland Wedding in The Blue Room at The Roosevelt Hotel, New Orleans, Louisiana (Part 1)

Previously we shared Amanda & Joseph's Engagement Pictures and Amanda's Bridal Shower. Check out our old posts for details about how they met and got engaged!

A little background: 12 plus years ago Amanda attended a wedding at Immaculate Conception and reception in The Blue Room. On that night she knew exactly what she wanted as the setting for her future fairytale. Since then the hotel closed and some years later the hotel reopened with a complete restoration to its current 1940’s elegance with a new tradition of twinkling Christmas lights lining the block-long lobby. A December wedding was the only option the first time she saw the beautiful lights creating the Waldorf Wonderland. Over the years Amanda has made a stop to twirl in The Blue Room and pretend Second Line through The Roosevelt lobby on every visit to the city. Anyone that knows Amanda is currently laughing reading this because after meeting her once you realize the strength of her 'make it happen' personality. Despite the hotel closing for a few years, The Blue Room at The Roosevelt was always her first choice.

Dreams do come true... In December the Double Windsor crew had the pleasure of shooting Amanda & Joseph’s Waldorf Wonderland Wedding in The Blue Room at The Roosevelt Hotel, New Orleans, Louisiana. This was more than just a wedding shoot. We were honored when the bride and groom wanted to book us for their entire wedding weekend so we could capture everything including a bachelorette bubbly brunch lingerie shower, rehearsal, rehearsal dinner, and cocktail welcome party in addition to our regular wedding duties.

Since Double Windsor was with Amanda & Joseph all weekend for multiple events we are breaking it into 3 posts; right now we are sharing the bachelorette bubbly brunch lingerie shower. We will follow up with a second post dedicated to the other events the day before the wedding (rehearsal, rehearsal dinner, cocktail welcome party, etc.) [Part 2]. Finally, we will have a third post with the usual wedding day content for you [Part 3].

Bachelorette Bubbly Brunch Lingerie Shower

The first event kicking off the weekend was a bachelorette bubbly brunch lingerie shower hosted by Megan and Danielle, Amanda’s sorority littles and grand-littles from college. Early on Amanda said she didn’t want the typical stiff bridesmaid luncheon. When this idea was presented to Amanda, she instantly lit up knowing it was the perfect way to start the weekend! It was the ideal opportunity for all the girls to laugh and share stories in an intimate setting. They organized a game to for everyone to get to know the bride and groom's story a little better (excellent selection of questions, no one got them all right). The wonderful hostesses made sure to include Sucre macaroons for dessert since that is what Amanda sends north to them for their special occasions. They even had a special favor for each guest to take home! Megan and Danielle did an amazing job hosting this special event and really set the tone for the whole weekend! Every tiny detail for this event was pure perfection! I was most impressed because Megan & Danielle pulled it off perfectly even though they are from Richmond, Virginia and arrived in New Orleans for the first time the day prior!

What do you think of having a Bachelorette Bubbly Brunch instead of a traditional Bridal Party Luncheon?
